Lung cancer

Lung cancer is the number one killer in the world. The main risk factor is smoking cigarettes and exposure to tobacco smoke. People that have tuberculosis and chronic obstructive pulmonary disease have a chance it will develop into lung cancer. A chest x-ray will show this in the lungs if its present. A ct scan will also show it. If your doctor hears something in your lungs or chest they will send you for an x-ray. I wouldn`t ignore it.

Two Types of lung cancer are small cell lung cancer and non-small cell lung cancer. Depending on the stage its in there`s options such as the combination of surgery, chemo therapy, radiation therapy and immune therapy. Every day the advancement of new treatments for lung cancer is becoming accessible. Survival rate for early stage lung cancer is 54 percent and 4 percent in an advanced. My dad smoked for over 25 years and was diagnosed with lung cancer in November of 2017.

10 signs of lung cancer

The First one is labored breathing. You may notice you`re short of breath doing something that you normally do.” Second one is a cough that lingers and never leaves. It seems to get worse at night. Third one is loss of appetite. Fourth one is pain in the chest. It`s one you feel deep down when you cough or strain yourself and that doesn`t go away. The fifth one is fatigue. You may notice your energy level has decreased and all you want to do is sleep. The sixth one is coughing up bloody phlegm and its associated with a fever. The seventh one is major mood swings. The eighth one is frequent infections such as pneumonia. The ninth one is pain in your shoulder that tingles with pain. You may also notice your lymph nodes and face are swelling. The tenth one is changes in your breast. My Dad had a fever, stiff neck and the worst headache he says he has ever had along with vomiting. He`s currently undergoing immune therapy every 3 weeks . It has shrank and he`s determined to fight this until it`s gone. He had surgery on his brain in November of 2017 because the cancer from his lung spread. The doctors did a Ct scan when he went to emergency room. My dad is now taking steroids to prevent seizures(he will for the next 2 years).

This is the scariest thing I have ever experienced in my life. If you suspect something is wrong with you or a loved one go to the doctor and get it checked.
